Career History
ADD to the core, Dana has a varied career history that provides her with a breadth of experience that benefits her clients. She has worked as a business systems analyst, strategic planner and labor relations representative for a major corporation. Before becoming an ADD coach, Dana was a professional organizer; an expert in teaching businesses and individuals practical ways to manage their paper, stuff, space and time. She also served a stint as a resource conservation consultant.
Dana’s Secret Weapon
More than 20 years ago, after a life-long struggle with clutter and chaos, Dana became determined to learn how to get organized so she could easily stay organized. Along with completely transforming her life, Dana’s practical organizing techniques became the foundation for her professional organizing and ADD coaching businesses. Her experience prompted her to share what she’d learned in her book Organized for Life – The Step by Step Guide to Get You Organized so You Stay Organized.
Education
Dana is a magna cum laude graduate of California State University, Dominguez Hills, with a degree in business and personnel administration. Since Dana graduated from high school with a low C grade point average, this accomplishment is a true testimonial to the power of creating systems and structures to support ADD.
Life
In 1989 Dana and her husband sold their house in Southern California, left their corporate jobs and traveled for the next year throughout the USA and Europe. They now live on a hillside in southwestern Oregon with their too smart daughter and two naughty dogs. A Master Gardener and a lapsed Rotarian (couldn’t sit through the meetings), Dana now volunteers shelving books at her local library. In addition she sings at the bedside of hospice patients with the Threshold Choir of Southern Oregon.
“The path to ADD Success isn’t straight or short, but the journey is well worth the effort.” Dana Rayburn
