Adult ADHD / ADD Coaching Strategies

Yes, Wendy, I am a Real Person

I just got off the phone with Wendy who’d just purchased my Organized for Life! program. She called with a question about the download.

Wendy acted surprised when I answered the phone. She said when she’d placed her order she wasn’t sure I was a real person. Good thing Organized for Life! spoke to her and she ordered it anyway. Thanks Wendy. I’m glad you did!

Wendy’s comment helped me realize I need to make something clear…

Yes, I am a real person.

I live in southern Oregon with my husband, daughter, two dogs and a crazy cat. My office is in the daylight basement of our home.

Life is full. Besides my family and volunteer activities, I have a very busy ADHD telephone coaching practice. I also do a lot of writing.

I figure my ADD Success Blog, ADD Success Newsletter and Organized for Life! program help people who can’t afford ADHD coaching or simply aren’t interested.

Yes, I wrote Organized for Life! myself. It’s based on my personal experience of being very disorganized and how I learned to get organized so I could stay that way.

Learning how to be organized is one of the most beneficial steps I’ve taken in my life. I like to help others by sharing my practical tricks and discoveries.

That’s why I’ve been helping people get organized for nearly 20 years. First, as a Professional Organizer and now as an ADHD coach for Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder.

How do I keep my home tidy and organized?

I religiously follow the system laid out in Organized for Life! for a few minutes each day before work to keep clutter from building.

I also have house cleaners come twice a month to mop the floors and dust and scrub. It may seem like an extra expense but they are cheaper than therapy. They do the cleaning I just hate to do, so I don’t do it which makes me feel guilty and frustrated.

Is my home spotless and tidy?

No way. We live here. I like it to be clean enough so we’re at peace and comfortable yet messy enough so we’re relaxed and happy.

Do I think most anyone can learn to be organized?

Yes! Taking control of your clutter may seem overwhelming at first, but unless there are hoarding issues I find most people just need a basic system and someone to guide them through it.

What advice do you have for someone who wants to get organized?

Getting organized so you stay organized is like building a muscle. Do a little bit every day and over time you’ll get stronger and more powerful.

I hope that sets the record straight. Here’s to being Organized for Life!
